Besides this being our club's centennial year, we are also celebrating the 100th birthday of The Rotary Foundation.  Created in 1917 with the $26.50 left over after paying the costs of that year's International Convention, the Foundation received just under $269 million in 2014-15 from Rotarians around the world.  Cumulatively The Rotary Foundation has advanced $1.2 billion toward the eradication of polio and $2.2 billion to support Rotary programs of humanitarian service.  Because of generous and sustained Rotarian donations, The Foundation fulfills its mission "to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty".  Rotarians are "Doing Good in the World", through our Rotary Foundation.
