ARBORETUM TREE MARKERSIf you want to purchase a tree marker for a tree in the Arboretum, please contact Pam Eglinski, pamelaeglinski@pbewriter.com. Pam is a Lawrence Rotary Club member and serves all three clubs in Lawrence. Keep in mind that there is often a waiting list for free trees provided by Lawrence Parks and Recreation. The tree must be available, then the marker requested. The marker is $125 for non-Rotarians and $100 for Rotarians. Trees may also be purchased for $500. Please don't hesitate to contact Pam for detailed information—many thanks for making the Arboretum a special place. |

CELEBRATING 100 YEARS OF THE ROTARY FOUNDATIONBesides this being our club's centennial year, we are also celebrating the 100th birthday of The Rotary Foundation. Created in 1917 with the $26.50 left over after paying the costs of that year's International Convention, the Foundation received just under $269 million in 2014-15 from Rotarians around the world. Cumulatively The Rotary Foundation has advanced $1.2 billion toward the eradication of polio and $2.2 billion to support Rotary programs of humanitarian service. Because of generous and sustained Rotarian donations, The Foundation fulfills its mission "to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty". Rotarians are "Doing Good in the World", through our Rotary Foundation.
